What are the overnight facilities?
Guesthouse with basic facility exist in Mindat, attached bathroom with western toilet but electricity will be available limited time. Proper accommodation with standard facility exist in Kampalat. One night will be spent in local village houses in candle light. Toile will be clean but local squat type. Limited amount of hot water will be supplied for face wash in the morning.

What will be the temperature like?
Our season is November until April, which is winter in Myanmar, and daytime temperatures will range from 20 to 25 degrees centigrade. Night temperature can be as cold as freezing during the night between late December and early February.

How long is an average trekking hour per day?
This program involve extensive driving with little side trekking. Average walking hours per day will be between 2 to 4.

What will I see on the trek?
Southern Chin state due to it isolation maintain the unique Chin tribal culture. Chin tribe women wearing various pattern of tattoo on their face and attractive amber necklaces. This region generally isolated and possesses many species birds and plants. Some rare flowers found on its summit and nowhere else in the world. Mt. Victoria offers a great opportunity for bird watching activities. One can come across several species of birds of low land scarf forest through the high elevation up to the summit.

How fit do I have to be?
This program is suitable for anyone who leads a moderately healthy lifestyle back home and is reasonably fit.

How are the treks graded?
Easy - suitable for most people in good health as these treks include only a short element of trekking which is always on good paths and predominantly at low altitudes.
Moderate - suitable for most hill-walkers as they involve relatively short days, on paths and trails.
A reasonable level of fitness is required as these trips involve an amount of ascent and descent and the occasional challenging day.

Demanding - physically challenging and more suited to regular hill-walkers who are used to extended days and who are competent over difficult terrain. These treks may also include periods at higher altitude.

What about meal?
Our experienced staff will take care of all catering on our expedition. Clients with special dietary requirements will have to advise us at the time of booking. Lunches usually are packed and are simple and light, whereas dinners are more extensive and usually at local restaurants, guesthouse or local homes.

Where do I sleep?
Accommodation will be mixed at guesthouse and local homes. Local guesthouse offer pretty basic facility such as hot water and western toilet while local home stay night will then be spent in candle light and wood fire. Toilet will be clean but mostly local squat type. Limited amount of hot water will be supplied for face wash in every morning. There is no tent accommodation involve in this program.

What about altitude?
This expedition involves a trek to the summit at 3180 meter which is far below the point of altitude sickness.

What about guides?
We provide an English-speaking escorted leader plus an assistance local guide, who will also be able to speak the local hill tribe languages. Upon request we will also be able to arrange German, French, Italian Spanish and Japanese speaking guides for an additional fee.

What about First aid?
All our guides are qualified in wilderness first aid, and carry a basic medical first aid kit.

What about insurance?
It will be compulsory for all clients to have taken out prior medical insurance including emergency air evacuation if required. Full contact details of the insurance policy will need to be carried with the expedition. In addition, we will also ask clients to sign a waiver form, which will recognize the client’s voluntary participation in an adventure activity, which carries a certain amount of inherent risk.

What about insects?
Most part the jungles are free of biting insects, but we do encounter plenty of insects in the low land such as sand flies around the rivers and leaches in the lowland bushes. Therefore we advise to wear lightweight long sleeve cotton and lightweight waterproof trousers while trekking.

Is there any age or health limit to participate?
This program is suitable to any one with normal health and fitness condition. However older clients or clients with pre-existing medical conditions may require a doctor’s letter confirming their fitness for the trip. During your visit you are under the direction of your trip Leader and he/she has total authority to determine your suitability to participate.
