Breakfast and we depart by jeep/truck to Shangaung, Rawan village about 15 km North of Putao with approx one and half hour drive through flat land with paddy fields and scrubs. Along the way we look out for Raptors like Hen Harrier, Crested Goshawk, and Changeable Hawk-Eagle on the way. This is the last village to where a car can drive and the beginning of a long walk to the thrills of extreme north Myanmar. Here we have more than half a day left for birding around the village, we look out for birds like Ashy Bulbul, Orange-bellied Leaf bird, Long-tailed Broadbill, Scarlet Sunbird, Brown Dipper, Slumberous Redstart, Grey-throated Babbler, Buff-breasted Babblers and others. Overnight at local home.

Thu - Day 03 Shangaung - Jungle Camp (truck)
Breakfast and we start trekking to so-called jungle camp, birding along the way. The first part of the track is through secondary forest along a small river but the second part is through a pristine forest, both of which is rich in special birds like Pale-headed Woodpecker, Blyth’s Kingfisher, Little Fork tail, Coral-billed Scimitar-Babbler, Black-eared Shrike-Babbler, Blue-spectacled Parrot bill (Greater Rufous - headed) and Snowy- throated Babbler. Today is being hardest and the most strenuous part of the entire trek since we have to climb up to 1400 meter height shoulder. We have our dinner and overnight at forest camp.

Fri - Day 04 Jungle camp - Wasandum (trek)

Ziya is also the last village along the tract. Beyond this, there will be nothing but primeval forest. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Ziyadum guest house.

Mon - Day 07 Ziyadum - Forest Camp (trek)

Later, we will walk along the river to our last camp situated on the bank of Namlang river. The camp is about 1150 meters in elevation and is carefully chosen to be in a place where White-bellied Herons fly across every morning and evening, sometimes in pairs and sometimes single. On the way from Ziya to the camp we will have time to watch birds like Yuhinas, Wren Babblers, Tesias, Laughing Thrushes, Flycatchers, Robins, Babblers, Pigeons, Fork tails and Scimitar - Babblers etc. We shall have our dinner and overnight at forest camp.

Tue - Day 08 Forest camp (trek)

Those who wish to see higher elevation birds would walk up the nearby ridge 3 - 4 hours to look for birds like Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Crimson - breasted Woodpecker, Darjeeling Woodpecker, Rufous-throated Partrige, Striped-throated Yuhina and Black-Faced Warbler. Those who wish to spend birding only around the camp will have an easy and relaxed day. Overnight at forest camp

We walk back the same way we came up camping at same sites trying to find birds we have missed on the way up. We shall have our dinner and overnight at local homes, guest houses and camps etc.

Mon - Day 14 Putao

After visit this charming town following a visit to so-called "stone dragon" park which should take approx 20 minute walk. We continue Mulashidi Lisu village and visit another suspension bridge across Mula river. We enjoy beautiful surrounding often back-drop with snow-capped mountains in distance. As we visit the sites we also have a chance of birding in and around those famous sites. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Putao trekking house.

Tue - Day 15 Onward departure
Breakfast and perhaps shopping at Putao market. Later transfer to airport for your onward departure flight to conclude this unique experience.
